Independent voters now outnumber both Republicans and Democrats– not only across the United States, but also here in Iowa’s 2nd District. Dr. Peters is running for U.S. Congress to take on both parties and deliver common-sense solutions for Iowans.

“I believe that partisan politics have greatly diminished our country and coarsened our public discourse,” Peters told the State Fair crowd on Thursday. “I don’t believe a particular candidate is good or bad just because they have an ‘R’ or a ‘D’ after their name, and I don’t believe an idea is better or worse simply because one member of a party or another proposed it.”

Dr. Peters’ agenda for independent-minded Iowans includes:

> A balanced budget
> Term limits for federal politicians
> End corporate welfare
> Refocus American foreign policy
> Reform our criminal justice system

Dr. Peters’ opponent, Congressman Dave Loebsack, is a 5-term incumbent and already has more than $1 million this election from PACs and special interests this election. Team Peters is fighting back: Sign up now to join our grassroots army and stand up to the Washington establishment.
